A character sheet or writeup is a game aid that includes a visual, textual summary of a character's traits.
Character sheets are often printed on paper for face-to-face role-playing games, then filled in by players using pen or pencil. However, with the rise in remote and online play, character sheets are increasingly being held in software (such as D&D Beyond) and accessed by means of a computer or other device.
When online character sheets are shared and the relevant data kept in a format that allows players and GMs to see all characters' data at once, that is sometimes called a character keeper.[1]
