A chimera is a fantastical creature.
The classic Chimera was described by Homer as "a thing of immortal make, not human, lion-fronted and snake behind, a goat in the middle, and snorting out the breath of the terrible flame of bright fire." It is often depicted as having the heads of both a lion and a goat.
In Dungeons & Dragons, the chimera is a three-headed, winged magical beast, with a dragon head in addition to the lion and goat heads.
