Conflict can refer to:
- conflict: a situation in which the characters or players disagree about what should happen next, therefore requiring resolution rules.
- conflict resolution: a type of resolution mechanic intended to address the underlying desires or goals in a conflict, as opposed to task resolution that addresses conflicts at the level of individual actions.
- intra-group conflict: dysfunctional relationships between players in a group. (See Resolving player conflicts.)
- intra-party conflict: disagreements between player characters in a party, either intentionally played up for drama or a toxic manifestation of intra-group conflict.
- in storytelling, an overarching threat in a campaign, e.g. a BBEG
