An ogre is a type of large, monstrous creature like a giant in many fantasy settings. In some settings, they are actually a type of giant (as in Dungeons & Dragons), but when this is not the case they tend to be smaller than giants (though still larger than humans) but have less resemblance to humans and appear more physically monstrous.
