A tatzlwyrm is a small, primitive dragon.

Tatzlwyrm line drawing

Tatzlwyrms are serpentine, green-scaled dragonkind, about 12 to 14 feet long from nose to tail tip, and weigh 400 pounds. Each of these creatures has a row of long spines running along its back from head to tail, as well as scaly dewlaps at its throat. Tatzlwyrms reach adult size after six months and can survive as long as 20 or 30 years in the wild.

A cousin to larger dragons, these wyrms have two arms, with claws at the end of each hand allowing them to easily climb trees. A long, powerful, and flexible tail extends beyond these arms. A tatzlwyrm's head rests above the arms, exuding poisonous misty green breath.

Publication History[]

Tatzlwyrm appears to be a variant on tatzelwurm. In Alpine folklore, the Tatzelwurm or Stollenwurm, Stollwurm is a lizard-like creature, often described as having the face of a cat, with a serpent-like body which may be slender or stubby, with four short legs or two forelegs. The alleged creature is sometimes said to be venomous, or to attack with poisonous breath, and to make a high-pitched or hissing sound.

The tatzylwyrm appears in Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Bestiary 3.
