Island hopping or archipelago hopping is an episodic play campaign structure in which each session or scenario takes place on a different island or other isolated location. Each island will have a different theme and different enemies, but events that take place on each island will be largely unconnected to the events that take place at any other time in the campaign. These unconnected episodes mean that the structure can work for either open table or dedicated table play.

Island hopping is common in epic tales from Greek mythology,[1] and for this reason it is the inherent structure of the RPG Agon 2nd edition, which is based on Greek mythological tales.
